High Profile Cases

As a behavioral profiler through written communication, Ron Rice has been retained to consult on or provide profiles in such nationally prominent cases as: Timothy McVeigh, JonBenet Ramsey, O.J. Simpson, the Zodiac murderer, the Washington Sniper, and the Atlanta Bomber

He was retained to assess and evaluate the authenticity of a suicide note allegedly written by Vince Foster, presidential aide during the Clinton administration, and gave a national news conference on the results that indicated it was a forgery. He was also retained by Brooke Shields’ representative to assess and evaluate handwritten terrorism notes by her stalker and by family members of Beat Generation writer Jack Kerouac to examine and identify the forger of certain of his wills.

As a court-appointed and court-qualified forensic handwriting expert, the testimony of Ron Rice is legally considered a scientific contribution to evidence. He is also court qualified in rape memory enhancement testimony.

Mr. Rice has provided live and telephone interviews regarding the JonBenet Ramsey ransom note for NBC News (Boston and Boulder, Colorado), MSNBC News (New York), and The Today Show (New York).

Following the September 11 terrorist attacks, Boston and Channel 7, NECN (Cable 31), requested his evaluation of the anthrax-contaminated letters sent to the offices of Senator Tom Daschle and television news anchor Tom Brokaw regarding the writer’s ethnicity and political orientation. He has consulted on assessment of documents written by J. Edgar Hoover and alleged Boston Strangler Albert DeSalvo.

“In this type of work, you need a track record,” Rice says. “What makes me more accurate and reliable than thousands of other handwriting analysts out there is forty years of hands-on experience performing civil and criminal investigations. I am court-qualified and court-appointed to conduct posthumous behavior profiles, by means of their last known handwriting, on the victims of homicide and of questionable suicides".

“I am the national training director of a licensed private occupational school. I have authored an educational and training course in basic and advanced clinical and forensic behavioral profiling, as well as a comprehensive course in forensic handwriting examination. There is no training course at this time that is as well-researched as mine.”

Ron Rice’s courses are licensed as a Correspondence School and approved by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (License No.: 9610131C) and the U.S. Veterans Affairs, G.I. Bill of Rights.
