Behavioral Profiling:
WHAT IS BEHAVIORAL PROFILING THROUGH WRITTEN COMMUNICATION?
Profiling is not a new term in police work or criminal justice, although it has had more exposure recently through the popularity of television programs. It is an investigative tool that, through various means including handwriting, produces a personality/character analysis or assessment of an individual. |

In the U.S., behavior profiling through written communication is used to understand, for example, an individual's emotional responsiveness, hostility traits, and potential for violence, sexual abuse, stalking, and/or terrorism. |
The term "behavior profiling through written communication" indicates that a profile is being performed by means of an individual's own handwriting or hand printing, not through traditional therapies conducted by a licensed professional, such as a medical doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or licensed therapist.
